The 2025 Canadian National Master was co-hosted by PRHRC and UIRC Aug 16-22 at Swampdog Farm on Vancouver Island.  The event opened with a great banquet and social evening on the 16th and finished with our final water test on Friday the 22nd.  The injury bug and unexpected estrus cycles wreaked havoc on our entries, but 30 dog/handler teams started the week and 10 teams qualified and earned the title of National Master Hunter with 8 of the teams being from BC.

1 GMH NMH Westpeak Ida’s Beretta QFTR owner/handler Leroy Mulrooney

4 GMH Prairiestorm Brown Eyed Susan owner/handler Susan Endersby

The week was a great opportunity to get together with people from across western Canada to show off the skills of our dogs.  Our judges hailed from New Brunswick, Ontario and Saskatchewan and put on challenging tests for the teams.  The clubs worked hard to put on the event and  really worked well together.  While it was certainly a lot of work, we were pleased with the results of the week in all aspects, and were happy to show off some BC hospitality to competitors and judges for the week.

Tracey Griffin.
