About

The BC Association of Retriever Trial Clubs was established in 1979.  The purpose of the Association is to “promote and encourage an interest in the conservation of wildlife and in furtherance thereof to encourage the use of trained retrievers.”

Membership to the Association is open, on application, to any club in British Columbia with the intention to hold CKC sanctioned and licensed retriever trials, hunt tests, or events as a part of its normal annual activities.

The Association and this publication are formed to generally assist in the organization and co-ordination of the activities of member clubs by:

  • encouraging the holding of field events by its member clubs
  • distributing the premium lists for such events
  • publishing the results of such events
  • co-ordinating and supporting the activities of its member clubs
  • encouraging and assisting in the holding of Judges and Training Seminars
  • assisting in the finding of trial, test and training areas
  • co-ordinating the selection of B.C. judges for National Events
  • helping to organize and assist in the holding of National events scheduled to take place in British Columbia
  • helping to organize or assist in such other activities as may be authorized by the membership
